The aim of our new Detox 5 Extra programme is to offer the chance to beat multiple addictions in addition to opiate use through concentrated physical and psychological treatment. Primarily having focused on opiate addiction, Detox 5 Extra wants to be able to offer an extended treatment programme following opiate detoxification for both alcohol, other drug addictions and where necessary the treatment for underlying mental health problems.

Once admitted on the Detox 5 Extra programme, an individually tailored care package will follow the standard five-day detox. Physical withdrawal symptoms are medically managed and patients are encouraged to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

An intensive psychological therapy programme includes both one-to-one and group therapy sessions. Goal setting, stress management and strategies for coping with a substance free life are some of the aspects that will be covered in depth.

In addition to the medical and therapeutic in-patient care, Detox 5 Extra also includes 12 weeks aftercare support as well as a free 24-hour help line for support and advice for both patients and family.
