Going Home & Aftercare
You will probably feel the need to rest for a few days at least, as your body becomes used to being without opiates, and it recovers from the detox process. Also, if you have had a naltrexone implant, you need to avoid any strenuous exercise to protect the stitches.
It may be a good idea to stay at home for the first few days following your detox, so if you work we suggest taking a week off post-Detox 5.
Aftercare
Our nurse team will ring you on the weekend you are discharged, then weekly for 12 weeks, or as long as you need. The nurse team is also on call for your questions and brief support.
The detoxification process is one small step to an opiate free life. We would strongly recommend a comprehensive aftercare package, which can be supported by an implant. The staff at Detox 5 are available to answer queries and help you find the aftercare arrangements that will help you most in your recovery. Anything urgent should be referred to your GP or emergency services.
