How does Detox 5 work?
Detox 5 combines compassionate understanding, medical treatment and personal commitment to preventing relapse. It's your decision to get your life back, and we will help you do this.
We start with a 5 to 7 day intensive detoxification phase, here in our clinic. Afterwards we continue caring for you with free support and a course of Naltrexone for the prevention of a return to opiate abuse.
But it's not easy. There are 4 essential things that need to be in place for us to work together successfully. They're important, and we're happy to talk to you if you're unsure about any one of them right now.
Self-motivation
It sounds obvious, but do you want to get clean? If you do, we can work together to kick the addiction. That's great news. When you come to Detox 5 we promise there will be no pressure and that no-one will make any judgements about you. It's your decision - we'll help - to get your life back.
Commitment
Everyone needs a helping hand. We ask for commitment from not only you, but also someone close to you. This person will need to take responsibility for your supervision over twelve months after the initial treatment: this includes the administration of your daily medication. Having someone close to you will also help keep you motivated.
A GP or Medical Specialist
You will need to take a course of Naltrexone for the next 12 months, and this means a medical professional must be involved throughout your treatment. We understand that you may be in circumstances where you do not want your GP to know you are seeking treatment, or your GP may not initially want to commit to a referral. If this is the case we are more than happy to talk to them directly on your behalf.
Post-discharge professional counselling
The first five days of the treatment will start the recovery process, but you already know that staying clean is going to mean working hard. Our 12 week aftercare support programme can help with relapse prevention immediately after you leave.
