Naltrexone Implants

Our Naltrexone implants can be used in two ways. First, as a permanent form of medication after visiting us here and attending the Detox 5 programme. Alternatively, an outpatient may apply to have an implant. The requirements are simple - you will need to undertake some basic preliminary testing (a urine test), with our clinical experts, and provide some form of photographic identity. In addition we will need to see results of recent blood tests for Liver Function, Urea and Electrolytes, and Full Blood Count. This can usually be obtained from your GP.

If you test clean of opiates and opiate type drugs, then we can discuss the procedure and the on-going maintenance of a Naltrexone implant.

It should be noted that Naltrexone implants are not advised for anyone intending to become pregnant during its use. Removal of Naltrexone implants incurs a more invasive process, and is not recommended unless pregnancy or unexpected trauma occurs.
