You're on the way home…
Detox 5 will be the first phase in your recovery. After 5 to 7 days (depending on your requirements), it will be time to go home.
Before you are discharged from our care, we will brief you and your nominated 'responsible person'. Together we will make sure you understand the physical symptoms your body is still undergoing, and the psychological symptoms after detox, that are not as easy to see. This is very important, as a clear understanding will prepare you for the first few days - of the rest of your life.
In summary, we will talk to you about resting, eating, sleeping and - most importantly - the importance of your Naltrexone medication.
What happens now…?
- You will need to rest and sleep. We will supply a non-addictive sedative - Trazodone - to help you do both, as insomnia is one of the most common problems experienced after detox.
- Take your daily does of Naltrexone. It's essential that this becomes a natural part of your daily routine as it's vital, to maintain your new opiate-free life.
- Drink plenty of fluids, and eat little and often, to allow your body time to recover naturally.
- After a week, it will be time to visit your GP or medical clinician. They will be delighted to see you and talk briefly about your experience, as they will be responsible for your on-going care and medication prescriptions. Don't worry, we will provide you with a 14-28 day supply of Naltrexone, to make sure your local pharmacy has time to keep future medication in stock.
